I am very excited to be spending my Easter vacation in Costa Rica this year. Randy has been raving about Costa Rica ever since I met him. He loves it so much he plans to build his dream home there on day. Tara and I will be leaving on Thursday and returning on Monday. I am bringing all of my gear and will do a full video of my experience when I return. I will be off the grid for a bit, I hope I don’t go into some type of Twitter withdrawal.

Top 10 things I want to do while I am in Costa Rica:
- Go an entire day without using the Internet
- Get a massage
- See a volcano erupt
- Take a dip in a hot spring
- See a monkey in the wild
- Go Parasailing
- Eat a local dish
- Scream my head off on a zip line
- Travers a hanging bridge
- Go white water rafting
I know that is a lot for 5 days, but I am going to do my best to pack it all in there.
You’re gonna LOVE it…Costa Rica is a BEAUTIFUL country, and the people are amazingly friendly (way more friendly than deserved by us snobbish Gringos)…get to a beach, if you can…eat beans and rice…have a great time…
Oh what a beautiful place to go, I’ve heard great things about it as well! I like your #1 – no internet! If I remember right (from all my travels on the Travel Channel – LOL) I think whitewater river rafting trough the rain forest is pretty big down there.
My wife and I went to Costa Rica on our honeymoon. Lots of adventure to be had. We went to the rainforest (Monteverde) (Awesome!) — no zip line, as I really didn’t need a broken leg 4 hours from the nearest hospital in a foreign country…
Also went to see the volcanic region – Arenal – we stayed too far away – find a resort close by with hot springs.
Finally, went to Melia Playa Conchal (Conch Beach) http://bit.ly/GnGxd — this is where we had our massages and sunset horseback ride on the beach and saw monkeys in the wild.
Still the best bacon we’ve ever had — not sure why, maybe it’s more fresh or something, but it was unreal! Beer’s good, too. 🙂
Have fun!
@Tim Jones:
Is it common to break bones on a zip line?
@Ted Murphy:
When I went, you climbed up a tree on sticks attached as a ladder about 70′ high to start the zip line course. No ropes to tie you off and no helmets. Just did not seem that safe when all things were considered. Not a risk I was willing to take on my honeymoon.
Have fun u r going to luv it. At least that’s what my daughter told me. She went to Costa Rica for spring break, while I shelled out $500 to get her car fixed. But that’s what dad’s are for. You are lucky you have a dog.
As you know Teddy, I have been there and had an amazing experience. If you have time, head over to Queppos in the South West
I have a cousin in CR and she keeps inviting me to visit, but she has SPIDERS hiding in every corner. I just don’t like the creepy crawlies.
Have a wonderful vacation – but take care Mr AdventureMan – it sounds like you have a hectic schedule ahead of you!
I love Costa Rica. How was the weather Easter is the tail end of the Dry season. I want to head there after AdTech.
Stay out of the Beetle bar it is trouble.
I suggest a helicopter transfer to your destination from San Jose.
Enjoy!
